End of Year SMARTR Outcome #1

  • The percent of Kindergarten students meeting the spring reading benchmark of 4 will be at least 75% by spring 2018.
  • The percent of students meeting the spring reading benchmark in Grades 1 & 2 will increase from 65% to 75% by spring 2018.
  • The overall percentage of students in grades 3-6 passing the reading SOL will increase from 81% to 86% by spring 2018.
  • The overall percentage of students in grades 3-6 who score pass advanced on the reading SOL will increase from 28% to 35% by spring 2018.

Strategy 1  

  • K-6 teams will implement Teacher's College Units of Study with a focus on responsive small groups.

Strategy 2

  • K-6 teams will implement daily intervention / enrichment.  

 

End of Year SMARTR Outcome #2

  • By Spring 2018, 80% of students scoring below the 55th percentile on the fall universal screener AND below grade level by one year or more on the DRA in reading AND failed the SOL, if in 4-6, will make more than one year’s progress as measured by DRA2 tools.

Strategy 1

  • Utilize the RI Team (Core & Expanded) to support teams with intervention work.

Strategy 2

  • Teams will utilize iReady and EDSL tools to track interventions and data.

Strategy 3

  • Provide Professional Development around Responsive Instruction

 

End of Year SMARTR Outcome #3

  • 100% of primary teams will utilize math workshop by spring 2018.
  • Forest Edge ES will increase the percent of students passing the 2018 math SOL (3rd - 7th) from 81% to 86%.
  • Forest Edge ES will increase the pass advanced rate on the 2018 math SOL (3rd - 7th) from 26% to 32%.

Strategy 1

  • K-6 teams will engage in daily intervention that includes flexible groups with a math focus.

Strategy 2

  • K-6 teams will participate in professional development around math instruction.

Strategy 3

  • K-6 teams will collaboratively plan math workshop.

 

End of Year SMARTR Outcome #4

  • The percent of students passing the science SOL will increase from 77% to 80% by spring 2018.

Strategy 1

  • K-6 teams will focus on academic vocabulary in science.

Strategy 2

  •  K-6 teams will begin to utilize 5E lesson format.
